DOGS

I was very pleased with the quality of dogs here today. The younger classes whilst not large, held some very nice, very promising dogs which can only bode well for the breed. BIS was Wansleydale Rowanberry of Valsett, RBIS Richecca Paper Doll with Upperwood and BPIS Redhara Crystal Cracker.

Minor Puppy 3 (1). 1.Littlechild’ Ravensett Armani. Very smart o/b of good size, classic head with lovely head and dark eyes, short coupled, very good tailset and carriage, good hind movement, a little loose in front but just right for age. 2.Hill’s Mandyset Slippery Customer. 6 month o/b with lovely head, showing a lot of promise and moving nicely.

Puppy 2 1.Oliver’s Bramstorm Walk The Line. Dark b/b/t of correct size, nice head and expression good reach of neck, nice outline with really well angulated hindquarters, moved well to win this class. 2.Golby & Martin’s Sunhouse Here Comes The Sun to Shadymoore. Promising dark o/b with very nice head, strong bone, level topline, moved well behind , still a little erratic in front but this will change with age, not as forward as 1 but a lot to like about him.

Veteran 6 (2). 1.Hammond’s Bournehouse Paper Parade for Oaktrish. 9 years old with best outline in this class, b/b/t with nice head and soft expression, straight front, a little heavy over the shoulder but with deep body, good quarters, very happy on the move. 2.Holland’s Mandyset Dirty Dancing. 8 years b/b in lovely coat, straight front with good length of upper arm, nicely angulated, moved well but not the drive of 1. 3.Jolley’s Dyrham Dont Stop Me Now In Jolymore

Junior 6 (3). 1.Swannell’s Rickory Up Close `N` Personal. Promising & very nice b/b of good size and substance, elegant outline, lovely reach of neck, deep body and strong quarter, good tailset and in good condition and well coated, moved well. 2.Mitchell & Withey’s Sunsprake Raging Storm over Scratchwood. O/b I liked a great deal but who is very much at the teenage stage and now needs to deepen in body and grow his adult coat, another who is very promising and when he matures should do really well. 3.Hutchinson’s Walshaw Midnight Moonlight

Yearling 5 (1). 1.Sayer’s Mariglen Blue Flame for Christter b/b with lovely head, clean & elegant outline, long reach of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front, level topline with well angulated front and hind quarters, excellent tailset, free, easy mover. A very nice young dog. 2.Grimsdell’s Tattersett Doctor Woody JW, b/b and very close up to 1, larger framed dog with super depth of body, good bone & tight feet, very nice head, excellent angulation, in very hard condition, in profuse coat, moved well behind but was a little erratic today in front movement. 3.Wood’s Swannery Magical Moment

Tyro 3 1.Ball & Morgan’s Gemsett I Am Legent, elegant b/b with nice head, arched neck of correct length into good shoulders, correct outline, strong quarters, nice front and good bone, best mover in this class. 2.Full’s Daraquist Leading Partner, good size o/b with lovely expression, well off for bone and body and in good condition, wouldn’t settle on the move but has a lovely tail action. 3.Swannery Magical Moment

Graduate 7 (4). 1.Loakes’ Goldbirch Guys N Dolls JW, o/b of good size and substance, nice head and expression, straight front, level topline with strong, angulated hindquarters, lovely coat and condition and sound on the move 2.Darley’s Severnsett Mark of Zorro very flashy b/b, correct head and dark eye, well off for bone, deep body, beautifully presented in lovely coat, moved well when settled, close up to 1. 3.Full’s Daraquist Leading Partner

Post Graduate 9 (3). 1.Sykes’ Daraquist Down Under beautiful, compact dark o/b with most lovely head and appealing expression, strong neck into well laid shoulders, he has a level back, is well ribbed up and with good depth of body, an extrovert he moved really well using his hocks and holding his topline, in hard condition. Res cc. 2.Stephenson’s Wansleydale Huckleberry at Steeplow, dark b/b/t and another who I liked very much, slightly heavier than 1 but still a very balanced young dog , good head, correct topline and rib and scores highly in rear angulation with good tailset and carriage, moved well. 3.Fisher’s Beechanger Wagtail JW

Limit 7. 1.Wright’s Fishwick Dancing Lad, top class o/b of excellent type, size and balance. Loved his head and expression, straight front with tight elbows and good length of upper arm, good bone and spring of rib, level back, good bend of stifle, in lovely coat & condition, moved soundly here but unfortunately did not put in any effort in the challenge. Am sure will obtain his title if his enthusiasm returns. 2.Goutorbe’s Redhara Bobby Dazzler JW, dark b/b/t with lovely outline, dark eye with gentle expression, has good neck & shoulders, short coupled, strong topline with deep, well ribbed body, well angulated, tended to move a little wide behind today but in profile is very impressive. 3.Golby’s Shadymoore Cowboys N Kisses

Open 12 (2) A difficult class with some dogs who looked very good standing just not performing on the move 1.Watkins’ Wansleydale Rowanberry of Valsett, glamorous o/b presented in top order, a very balanced dog with correct head, arched, well muscled neck, deep chest with good bone and feet, very good spring of rib, level back and excellent hindquarters, liked him very much standing but felt that on the move he really came into his own covering the ground with strength and precision with a constant wagging tail, CC & BIS .2.Stubbington & Buckley’s Sh Ch Bondgate Single Malt, o/b dog with lovely head and expression, long neck, straight front with good bone, level back, well angulated front and rear, scored over 1 in shoulder, sound on the move but today unlucky to meet 1 in such form. 3.Mombaers’ Ch Ballykissangels Electrode
