Minor Puppy (8)

1.Mr&Mrs.J.W, Watkin's Valsett Starlite Up'N'Shine well grown orange, of good size and substance. Excellent bone and body, well angulated forehand with matching quarters. Strong level topline and correct tailset. Moved sound and true.

2.Mrs S Dales Upperwood Summertime Blues Really liked this puppy, he has the most beautiful head and soft expression, well placed shoulders and lovely reach of neck, good body, not quite the rear angulation of 1 or the coat as yet but a very promising puppy. Moved really well.

1.Mrs A. Derry& Mr P Schonvilles Balvenie Clandestine I was very impressed with this elegant youngster he is so together for his age, lovely clean outline with no exaggerations, classic head and gentle expressive eyes. Correct bone and carrying just the right amount of weight. Moved really well . Best Dog Puppy

2.Mrs P Harris's Culverwell First Footer into Konakakela Nice type. Orange with pleasing head and dark eye, well angulated and has good bone and feet. Needs to firm up in topline and front but overall another promising puppy. Moved well

3 Mrs J Lynn's.Culverwell Captain Jack.

1. Mr&Mrs D Kirsch's Shining Star of Sorbus An old favourite of mine, such a sound well made dog he presents a beautiful outline with elegance and substance combined. At 91/2 years he still retains his quality head and dark expressive eyes. Outmoved most here today, such a shame he never gained his title. BVIS

2. Mr M Slack's Ravensett Dark Fire Dark blue upstanding male in full coat, well angulated fore and aft. Excellent bone and body. Loved his typyness. Unfortunately not as positive on the move as 1.

3. Mrs C J Tuckers Walshaw Moonstorm

Junior (2)

1. Mrs W &Miss K Whittington's Juldean Excalibur.Eyecatching youngster. Tricolour with classy head and dark eye, reachy neck and excellent shoulder placement, short level back and well bent stifles. Correct level topline and tailset. At the" inbetween stage" at the moment but with time and patience im sure will mature into a top flight dog.

2.Mrs B. Feerick's Cannonsett Falling in love. Nicely made Tri, with attractive head and soft expression. Well off for bone. Well bodied. Not cooperating with his handler today and didn't move with any enthusiasm.More attention needed to presentation otherwise a very nice dog.

1.Mrs W&Miss K. Whittingtons Juldean Excalibur

2.Mrs C Mottishaws Upperwood Hooray Henry.Stylish Blue with good reach of neck and well placed shoulders.Well ribbed. Strong loin and excellent hind angulation.Short hocks round bone and good feet. Maturity just right for age. Overall a pleasing picture, I just preferred head of 1.

3.Mrs E Birch& Mrs C West Hitides Gingerbreadman

1. Miss B Pead's Sparsett Hembury Explorer Alone.Well presented lightTri. Sweet head and expression. Short coupled, nice tight feet, short hocks. Moved OK.

1. Mrs NJ. Shadwell's Canonsett Grin 'N' Bear It.Quality Blue with attractive head and dark expressive eyes. Well placed shoulders and strong level topline, good depth to chest. Well bent stifles short hocks and tight feet. Moved really well using his tail

2. Mr M.Slack's Ravensett Renaissance Dark Blue with strong masculine head, reachy neck adequate shoulders,well angulated quarters, unfortunately lacking a little condition today. Moved OK

3 Miss A Salmon's Burleycott Irish Cream

A really good ciass with the first 3 all in contention and very difficult to separate.

1. Mrs R.j Crofts Fencefoot Fond Memory JW. Top quality , sound honest dog with no exaggerations. Classic head with dark eye and melting expression. Correct forehand, firm level topline and strong well angulated quarters. Carrying just the right amount of condition today. Moved with drive and purpose. Fully mature and deserving of his title. CC and BIS

2. Ms M Withey and F Mitchells Sunsprake Raging Storm over Scratchwood JW very close up to 1 and similar comments apply, just not quite as ready but almost there and I am sure it wont be long before he gains his title. I particularly liked his refined head and kindly eye, well placed shoulders and straight front He presents a balanced elegant outline. Moved really well. RCC

I was delighted to have the opportunity to go over these 4 show champions and would like to thank their owners for bringing them. They all have the quality and characteristics that our breed require and I made my decisions based on how they looked on the day.

1. Mr & Mrs J W Watkins SH CH Wansleydale Rowanberry Of Valsett, Quality orange, on top form today. Strong masculine head, compact body, well angulated quarters excels in movement and won this class with his sound driving action. In fabulous coat and condition, shown faultlessly as always by this exhibitor.

2. Mr & Mrs G Fishers SH CH Beechanger Wagtail JW, very close decision, however felt 1 was in slightly better bloom today and had the edge in movement. Rangier male, well angulated forehand and good reach of neck, deep brisket and strong quarters, Well presented and handled.

3.Mrs S D Loakes SH CH Goldbirch Guys and Dolls JW ShCM

BITCHES - It was a shame there was so many absentees. Final decisions were in agreement with my co-judge.

MP (5, 2a) Three promising puppies.

1 Mr & Mrs J.W. Watkin, VALSETT STARLITE UPSY DAISY 7 mths light tri, attractive head, well put together, good balance of body, good bone and feet, steady movement for one so young.

2 Miss L Harris, GEMSETT ULTRA VIOLET 6 mths dark blue, very much the baby, sweet head and expression, lovely angulated shoulders and back end, gave way to 1 on movement and maturity.

3 Mr G Stirk & Mrs K & Miss Z , RAVENSETT SUZANNAH VIA GRAKAR

P (2,1) 1 Mrs A Montell, CULVERWELL MISS DEMEANOUR 11mths tri puppy lovely head and neck, well angulated shoulders, deep chest, good bend of stifle, well muscled, ample bone, movement steady and true with a good coat. BBP and BPIS

V (4,3).1 Ms F Mitchell & Mrs M Withey, SUNSPRAKE FINN'S FANTASY WITH SCRATCHWOOD JW 10 yr old orange lady, attractive head with dark eye, short coupled with good bend of stifle, looked well with plenty of coat, moved ok.

J (1). 1 Bridgwater, Davis, Slack & Littlechild, ABIWROSE BLUE LACE WITH BRUCELM appealing dark blue, feminine head and long neck, good angulation front and rear with lovely sweeping stifle, moved a bit close behind.

Class 16 Yearling Bitch (5,4).1 Mrs J Atyeo, HAZEYSUNSETT CALISSIMI attractive headed blue, good body proportions, well sprung ribs, presented a clean outline, moved well, overall a nice bitch.

N (4,1).1 Mrs A Montell, CULVERWELL CHRISTABELLE I see she was litter sister to my puppy winner and similar remarks apply, light blue, dark eye, balanced angulation front and rear, in good coat and feather, moved steady with happy tail. 2 Mrs G Baker, MANDYSET WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE balanced orange, lovely head and chiselling with gentle expression. Good body properties. Moved soundly.3 Bridgwater, Davis, Slack & Littlechild, ABIWROSE BLUE LACE WITH BRUCELM

G (3).1 Mrs L. Sketchley, KERRIMERE LINDY LOU feminine orange with sweet head,and expression, straight front, good body, well ribbed up, in lovely coat, moved quite well.2 Mr & Mrs Condron & Mr & Mrs Needs, COVARNEY BLUE VELVET VIA STOURFORD blue, lovely head with dark eye, good angulation front and rear. Moved ok . 3 Mrs S Dale, MOORBROOK LITTLE MERMAID AT LURELSET

PG (10,4) liked these two quality tri bitches very little between them,1 Mrs A Montell, CULVERWELL CONSTANZA lovely head and expression, great angulation front and rear, level topline, good coat, well muscled rear quarters, as were all from this kennel. Presented a nicely balanced picture. Moved soundly and steady . 2 Mrs R.J. Croft, FENCEFOOT FOREVER FRIEND soundly put together, with attractive head and kind expression, well laid shoulders, in hard condition, carried herself well on the move. Just preferred hindquarters of 1. 3 Mrs I Forman, SOMORAY MIDNIGHT BLUES

L (12,1).1 Mrs J. Day, MANDYSET RUMOUR HAS IT AT DECOVERLYquality light orange, compact but elegant lady, beautifully balanced, super head with gentle expression, good body, short coupled, level topline, although not in her best coat she had enough. Moved so well which won her the class and was really pleased to award her 1st CC , RBiS. 2 Mr G Stirk & Mrs K & Miss Z & Littlechild, RAVENSETT ROYAL DIAMOND FOR GRAKAR striking dark blue, lovely head and dark eye with a soft expression, great angulation front and rear, moved with style, in super coat and feather presenting a beautiful picture. O (3,1).1 Mr & Mrs Deering, ROSETIMBER FOXY LADY nicely balanced blue, pleasing head with dark eye, short coupled strong rear quarters with good bend of stifle In good coat, moved happily.2 Mrs Y Davis, CULVERWELL CALYPSO OF MERLEYCOPSE orange, slightly heavier in head than 1 but not overdone, good front and body proportions, moved ok.

SpB (1).1st. Mr F.F. Homer & Mrs S.M , HARVANCOURT FLORENTINE feminine blue, very pretty head with soft expression, lovely front assembly, level topline, good rear quarters, which she used on the move.

Suntop Memorial Award

Super class of quality Dogs and Bitches. I would have liked more cards!

1st · Ms M Withy and Ms F Mitchell's Sunsprake Raging Storm Over Scratchwood. Fitted my interpretation of a near perfect English Setter dog. Orange Belton dog, with balanced head from nose to occiput. Scissor bite,flews not pendulous, well defined stop, dark gentle eyes. Good reach of neck , well placed shoulders, good length of upper arm. Deep chested and short coupled. Lovely bend of stifle, tight feet and in hard condition and good silky coat. Moved well, with level topline and correctly held tail. Beautifully presented and handled.

2nd · Mr G &Mrs K & Miss Z Stirk's Ravensett Diamond Romance With Grakar ScCM Elegant tri bitch. Prettily marked fine head. Dark mischievous eyes, long neck into well laid shoulders. Good length of upper arm, deep chested. Level topline held on the move, good muscletone all over. Moved with vigour, but handled and presented to perfection
