DOGS

A pleasure to judge our wonderful breed at such a well organised show. My co-judge, Neil Kelly and I fully agreed on the major awards.

Best In Show was the BCC winner, Taylor's Sh Ch Wansleydale Queen Bee, super example of our breed looking well and presented in first class order. Reserve Best In Show was my DCC winner, Schoneville and Derry's Hawklawn Khamsin at Balvenie, Best Puppy In Show went to the PB, Pitts' Wandsfell Dream Maker and Best Veteran to the VD, Colton's Sodalitas High Havoc over Ennydloc

Minor Puppy (1)

1 Parrish's Tawnymeade Tranquil Waters .8 months tri. Well grown and coming along nicely. Balanced in head with good length of muzzle. Straight, well boned front. Good depth for his age. Well set tail. Moved steadily.

Puppy (1)

1 Parrish's Tawnymeade Tranquil Waters

Veteran (6, 2 absent)

Lovely class headed by two quality orange boys.

1 Colton's Sodalitas High Havoc over Ennydloc At nine years old is balanced and well bodied for his age. Good head with strong neck of good length and well laid shoulders. Well developed ribs with width and depth. Strong over his quarters. He has a good turn of stifle and moved well here. Pleased that my co judge agreed to him being Best Veteran in Show. 2 Hepburn's Tattersett Don't Push It Close up. I have liked this one before - and still do! Super head, elegant and refined but still masculine. Clean in neck with good layback of shoulder. Good depth of body and firm over his couplings. He has a good turn of stifle and hocks are well let down. Just not a positive on the move as the winner today.

3 Mellish's Gemsett Pole Position for Monbrec

Junior (3,1)

1 Taylor's Bumblecorn Ash of Tattay Coming together slowly but still plenty to like here. Refined in head with clean neck of good length. Well boned straight front. Level topline. Short form hock to heel. He just needs time to develop and fill out. 2 Kelly's Cornsett The Wise One Stronger made 15 month old in good coat. Good shoulder angulation and depth to his body. Well boned through with hocks let down nicely. Tricky decision.

Yearling (5,1)

1 Phillips, Bryant and Watkins' Glenmaurangi Star Man Well balanced and in good muscular order. Balanced head with kind expression and good ear placement. Good depth and width of chest giving the essential heart room. Strong quarters with good width of thigh. Handled to advantage. Should go on to do well. 2 Taylor and Ateo's Samelin Comeback Special Just 18 months and lacking the finish of the winner but that shouldn't decry from his many qualities. Classic head with clean neck. Well rounded bone. Good length of rib. Needs to fill out but that will come. Level topline, well angulated quarters complete a lovely outline. Moved well in profile. 3 Bryant and Hollis' Silvamoon Storm Trooper for Phenset

Novice (1)

1 Kelly's Cornsett The Wise One

Graduate (4)

1 Normansell's Latin Lover Rewind for Larrenie This dark blue has a clean elegant outline. Balanced head with good reach of neck. No throatiness here. He is firm in topline with good width over his loins. He moved well going away from me. Tail never stopped wagging. A happy boy who will only get better with maturity. 2 Worthy's Tattersett Big Orange Good headed orange boy with well defined stop and gentle expression. Well bone through. Strong in neck with well developed ribs and strength over his short loins. Hocks are well let down. Moved steadily. Carrying plenty of body. 3 Full's Ravensett The Midas Touch at Teignestuary

Post Grad (8,2)

1 Harris, Bridgewater and Hoeksema's Bridgella First Edition with Konakakela One I have noticed from the ring side and is as good to go over. Balanced in head with dark eyes and soft expression. Clean neck of good length. He is well developed in chest with good depth and length to his ribs. Quarters are well angulated. He moved soundly when settled holding his topline well. Well presented in good coat and condition. Looked well. 2 Lawson's Wansleydale Dorian Grey Not as forward as the winner but is beginning to develop along the right lines. Good head with dark eyes and correct ear placement. Firm in topline with well angulated quarters He was in super hard condition and moving true both ways. Just needs the maturity to finish the picture. 3 Brown's Mariglen Night Manager at Yendorlech

Limit (6,1)

1 Schoneville and Derry's Hawklawn Khamsin at Balvenie This three year old orange is really looking well now. Refined head with good balance, length of muzzle and a kind expression. Clean neck of good length leads to straight well boned front. He is deep in chest and strong over the loins giving a correct topline. Well angulated quarters with good width of thigh. He was presented in first class condition. Delighted to award him his third CC. Well deserved. 2 Taylor and Atyeo's Samelin Harris Tweed What a lovely type this boy is. He has a traditional head with defined stop and good length of foreface. Clean neck of good length leads to well laid shoulders which are becoming increasingly rare in the breed. Well ribbed with good length of body and firm in topline. He has a good turn of stifle with no exaggeration. Such a good honest dog. A pleasure to award him the RCC. 3 King's Dobbies Delight at Grantastar completed a trio of quality males.

Open (8,4)

1 Mitchell Withey and Cravos' Sorbus Belfry Lad At 5 is mature and well balanced through. Nothing out of place here. Well shaped head with correct amount of stop and well set ears. Strong in neck with well laid shoulders. Good width to his ribs and firm and short in the loin. He has good rear angulation with well turned stifles. A sound and honest type. Edged this class on his more positive hind movement. 2 Poynter and Lewis' Quensha Cowboys and Angels Only just two and for me has still a bit to do. His quality is there to see. Balanced in head with clean neck of good length. Well laid shoulders. He has good width to his ribs but lacked the depth of the winner. Firm in topline and well angulated quarters. He was presented in first class order. With maturity should go on to gain his title. 3 Kelly's Alolfrana Memphis Rock

Special Beginners (3,1)

1 Brown's Mariglen Top Gear at Yendorlech This light tri was in full coat in good overall condition. Masculine head with good reach of neck and decent shoulder angulation and nicely tucked in elbows. Good width to his ribs. He has good turn of stifle and hocks are nicely let down. 2 Salmon's Gillancette Day Dreamer Reserve in the graduate class. More settled here. Pleasing in head with kind expression. Well boned through. He has a firm topline and well angulated quarters. Still has some maturing to do. When he does, he should finish nicely.
