Southern English Setter Society Open Show at Chieveley Village Hall on 17/07/05 I found the dogs were all clean and well presented, the weather was very hot which unfortunately influenced movement in many cases, the bitches coped far better than the dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day, although I wished I had more red cards as decisions were very close in a number of classes. BIS Westonfields Orangina RBIS Ownways Moving Shadow at Monbrec BP Wansleydale Magic Star BV Ownways Touch of Spice PD (4,1) 1) Wale's Wansleydale Magic Star Well balanced orange, lovely head and expression, nice neck and shoulders, short coupled with a good spring of rib, plenty of bone,moved freely, one to watch. 2) Beckwith's Swannery Zeus, different type to 1, well balanced tri, nice head and expression, good angulation fore and aft ,moved well. 3) Carlin's Wynacre Lord of the Dance for Sodalitas. SVD 7-9 yrs (4,2) 1) Beckwith's IR/Dutch/Lux Sh Ch Tattersett Time is Time, 7yrs old short coupled well coated orange, nice head, correct eye shape, good neck & shoulders, level topline held on the move, moved well in the heat BVD 2) Cooper's Earldoms Master of Menace, 9 yrs old, masculine head and expression, well laid shoulder moved with enthusiasm. SVD10 yrs & over (3,1) 1) Pearce's Westonfield Wooster at nearly 11 yrs old was enjoying his day out, short coupled tri, pleasing head and dark eye, moved with slashing tail.2) Offer's Ownways Pacific Blue,10 yrs old, longer cast than 1, nice head and expression, well ribbed up, correct tailset, in goodcoat, struggled in the heat on the move. JD (3) 1) Malin's Turkel Gold Quest mature orange , nice outline, good head and neck, deep chest, level topline with correct tailset moved soundly. 2) Tucker's Walshaw Party With Me, well balanced head, straight front, good shoulders and rear angulation,happy mover. 3) Beckwith's Swannery Zeus. YD (2,1) 1) Well's Hollygrove Story Teller at Ritnor dark blue, stood alone but a worthy winner, lovely head and kind expression, well angulated, good spring of rib, neat feet, moved with drive using his tail. GD (2,1) 1) Kirsch's Soul Mate of Sorbus, short coupled blue, elegant head, well laid shoulders, straight front, nice turn of stifle, furnishings completed the picture moved well. 2) Dunk's Samelen City Gold, close up to 1, masculine head and soft expression, good reach of neck, correct construction, well muscled moved with drive just needs coat to complete the picture. PGD (7,1) 1) Kirsch's Shining Star of Sorbus, litter brother to the winner of the last class, mature blue in good coat, masculine head but not overdone, gentle expression, well angulated front and rear, plenty of bone, move with drive.2) Day's Decoverly Celtic Venture, short coupled dark tri, pleasing head and dark eye, straight front and nice lay of shoulder nice turn of stifle, moved soundly.3) Young's Ownway's Money Talks. LD (5) 1) Day's Decoverly Sandpiper nicely balanced orange, excellent head and dark eye, lovely length of neck, straight front, well bodied, tight feet, moved true using his hocks. RBD 2) Brayshaw's Carganey Manhatten, well constructed blue, in good condition, nice head and expression, good spring of rib, moved with drive.3) Cooper's Tremorgan Prince of Wales to Settrenda OD (7,2) 1) Mellish's Ownways Moving Shadow at Monbrec. one I have always liked, mature blue, lovely head and melting expression, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, correct tailset and nice turn of stifle, moved well. BD 2) Tompsett's Radbrooks Break Away, elegant head and kind expression, good angulation, well bodied, moved soundly. 3) Beckwith's Gib/Dutch/Lux Sh Ch Mariglen Force the Pace with Becksett. SBD (2,1) 1) Holland's Mandyset Dirty Dancing mature well bodied blue in good coat, pleasing head, strong neck, deep chest, tight feet, moved ok. PB (5)1) Attwood's Swannery Blue Velvet nicely balanced blue, femine head and expression,good reach of neck, well constructed, in good coat, moved well. 2) Croft's Ravensett Dark "N" Delicious, compact blue baby, clean outline, pretty head, nice shoulders, good sweep of stifle, moved ok, would prefer slightly more of her 3) Pearce's Westonfield in the Stars. SVB 7-9 years (2) 1) Barker & Godfrey's SH Ch Elmwood Felicity at almost 10 years of age this dark blue is in lovely condition, sweet head and expression, good overall confirmation, moved with style. 2) Aldridge's Brenholm out of the Blue at Fleckers, 9 year old well coated blue enjoying her day out, feminine head and expression, good angulation, moved with animation. SVB 10 years & over (1) 1) Young's Ownways Touch of Spice approaching eleven and still looking good, pretty head and soft expression, good shoulders, level topline and correct tailset, moved so well for her age , well presented BVB JB (2,1) 1) Haigh & Hollis's Taurkel Royal Delight Compact blue, lovely outline, feminine head, nice reach of neck, well bodied for age, moved really well with slashing tail. RBB. 2) Bryant's Taurkel Special Delight at Phenset, different type to 1, feminine head with correct eye shape, nice neck and shoulders, good turn of stifle, moved well. 3) Reith's Elusive Secret Shadow. OB (7,4) 1) Pearce's Westonfields Orangina, well balanced orange, beautiful head and melting expression, lovely reach of neck, nice layback of shoulder, good angulation front and rear, level topline, the furnishings completed the picture, moved with drive using her hocks. Pulled out that bit extra today and I was please to award her BB & BIS. 2) Oliver's Bramstorm Blue Print JW, well coated short coupled blue, feminine head and soft expression, ,good angulation and spring of rib, nice turn of stifle, moved well. 3) Cooper's Tremorgan Golden Bracken to Settrenda SBB (6,1) 1) Montell's Culverwell Carenza mature orange, pretty head and dark eye, nice neck and shoulders, level topline, tail well set on, good turn of stifle, moved true.2) Bevan & Young's Penny Royale, unlucky to meet 1, nicely made blue, sweet expression, lovely dark eye, neat feet, moved with purpose. 3) Reith's Elusive Secret Shadow Jane Bishop (Judge)
