SOUTHERN ENGLISH SETTER SOCIETY OPEN SHOW - Sunday 18th July 2010

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for making my day so enjoyable. It was a very pleasant and venue and everyone seemed friendly and relaxed.

MICHAEL WINCH YEARLING MEMORIAL AWARD (DOG OR BITCH)

7(1) 1. Pitts’s WANDSFELL JUST LOVE ME. Nine month old dark orange belton bitch in lovely coat and condition. Sweet head with lovely dark eye giving that soft expression. Arch neck leading into good lay-back of shoulder. Good bone with level topline and good bend of stifle. Moved well just needs to tighten in front movement.

2. Day’s MANDYSET RUMOUR HAS IT. Lighter orange bitch with lovely head and expression and dark eye. Excellent layback of shoulder, short coupled with good spring of rib. Movement rather erratic to start with but settled when moved again. 3. Grimsdell’s TATTERSETT HEBE.

LESLEY ALLEN-SCOTT OPEN MEMORIAL AWARD (DOG OR BICH)

16(5) 1. Sayers’s MARIGLEN BLUE FLAME FOR CHRISTER. What a star! In beautiful coat and condition. Lovely head and expression - just what I like in and English Setter. Good bone and feet, strong arched neck with well laidback shoulder. Level topline and good rear angulation. This dog has a lot of ring presence and moves well when settled. 2. Wright’s FISHWICK DANCING LAD. Another lovely dog but today did not show his best on the move. Nice head with dark eye, good bone with tight feet, excellent shoulder placement, good spring of rib and bend of stifle. In good coat and condition. When standing this dog has an elegant outline. Very sound mover. These two dogs could easily change places on another day. 3. Kirch’s SOUL MATE OF SORBUS
