Puppy Dog 1st Hollands Couldoran Speckled Wood 9 month old orange. Reasonable angulation front and rear, good depth throughout, well coated for age. Moved steadily.

Veteran dog (5) 1st Wrights Sh Ch Fishwick Dancing Lad. Pleasure to go over this 9 year old. Looking really well today. Still holding his elegant outline. Balanced head with dark eye and melting expression. Lean neck into well laid shoulders. Excellent spring of rib with lovely bend to stifle. Good width of second thigh to give him adequate drive round the ring. Moving out well and enjoying his day.

2nd Tuckers Walshaw Moonstorm JW. Lots to like about this blue boy. Lean head. Well angulated front and rear just not moving as positively as 1 today.

Novice dog (4,2) 1st Hodges Lakecastle Tomo Nicely balanced orange. Well off for bone. Has good depth throughout. Lean balanced head with super reach of neck with no signs of throatiness. Would prefer more return of upper arm. Nicely presented.

Post Graduate dog (3,1) 1st Trigwells Hannahdene Danny Boy. Super glamour orange, all male. Now really coming together. I love his lean head and super soft expression. He has a super balanced outline, strong level topline. Tidy feet. Moved enthusiastically with drive. Reserve best dog.

2nd Tompsetts Radbrooks God Only Knows. Again another youngster who is finally coming together although he really doesn’t do himself any favours! Balanced outline with solid level topline. Straight from with elbows well tucked in. Short coupled with strong, muscled hind quarters. Just preferred the head of 1.

Limit dog (3,1) 1st Croft & Littlechilds Ravensett Royal Legacy With Thistlesett. Very glamourous, well coated blue. Impressive, balanced outline and has excellent angulation front and rear. Good reach of neck. Short coupled with good width to his second thigh. Unfortunately today was not moving as well as I have seen him, which cost him top honours.

2nd Birch & West Hightides Gingerbread Man. 4 year old orange. Correct lean head with dark eye giving a lovely soft expression. Good length of neck into reasonable shoulders. Level topline.

Open dog (3) 1st Pitts Wandsfell Don’t Quote Me. Just coming upto 3 and he is starting to really look the part. No denying he is a male but he has the elegance I was looking for. Balanced throughout with Excellent bone. Dark eye with the softest expression. Has excellent spring of rib with depth to it. On the move he really came to life. Driving from behind with super length of stride he covered the length of the ring easily. Best dog.

2nd Woods Swannery Magical Moment. 7 year old blue. In excellent coat & condition. Slightly heavier in head than 1 but moved out well.

3rd Youngs Decoverley Sundance To Brookedge.

Beginners Dog (3) 1st Hodges Lakecastle Tomo

2nd Peads Sparsett Hembury Explorer Of Lakeview. Tri dog 6 years old. Well coated. Plenty of bone with level topline which he held on the move.

Minor Puppy bitch (1) 1st Gwilliam & Bozier Victoriaview Primrose. 9 month. Pretty tri girl with lean head, dark eye. Straight when viewed from the front. Well presented. Just a bit apprehensive on the move today.

Puppy bitch (3) 1st Thackers Mandyset Tell No One. Nicely made orange. Small frame but everything is in proportion. Well bodied for her age. Well angulated front and rear. Moved with drive from her well developed hind quarters. BPIS.

2nd Feericks Sunrush Moonlight N Roses. Blue bitch, larger frame than 1 but well proportioned. Dark, correct shaped eye. Reasonable angulation front and rear, nice spring of rib. Moved ok.

3rd Gwilliam & Bozier Victoriaview Primrose.

Junior bitch (3) Williams Bournehouse Spring Violet. Very well developed blue. Pretty head and expression. Liked her overall balanced shape. Level topline leading to excellent tailset (lacking in many) super front & rear angulation. Good, tight feet.moved out well.

2nd Thackers Swannery Blue Rose. Very feminine head on this young blue. Liked her excellent reach of neck. A little long in loin and tended to dip her topline a little today.

Graduate bitch (4) 1st Pitts Wandsfell Don’t Call Me Babe. Just loved this dark orange who oozed quality. So well put together, each part flowing into the next. Long, lean head, darkest of eye. Reachy neck into textbook shoulders. Short coupled, well set on tail. Short from hock to heel. When she moves she displays excellent reach and drive and has a long, easy stride. As sound as they come. Thank you for bringing her. BB & BIS.

2nd Tuckers Walshaw Date With Destiny. Another lovely orange bitch. Prettiest of heads. Balanced throughout, liked her overall depth with plenty of fore chest. Strong hindquarters with decent bend of stifle. Excellent reach in front on the move which earned her RBB.

3rd Williams Bournehouse Starry Night.

Post Graduate bitch (3) 1st Harris Gemsett Ultra Violet. 3 year old blue with sweetest expression. Very well made girl. Liked her overall outline well sprung ribs with great depth throughout. Neat feet. Lacking enthusiasm on the move today.

2nd Dytes Valsett Up N Rosie. Lovely orange bitch full of breed type. Sweetest of heads. Balanced and well proportioned. Level topline with tail in line with the back. In lovely coat and condition and well shown.

3rd Gwilliam & Bozier Pewterspear Piano Rag Of Victoriaview

Limit Bitch (2,1) 1st Tompsetts Radbrooks Sound Of Silence. 4 year old tri. Very well bodied. Straight front, nicely boned. Correct return of upperarm. Level topline. Moved with lots of enthusiasm but footfall not as positive and not the drive of the main winners.

SOUTHERN ENGLISH SETTER SOCIETY - OPEN SHOW - 19 July 2015

I would like to thank the Committee and Exhibitors for giving me this opportunity to assess a lovely selection of quality dogs on a glorious sunny day set in beautiful surroundings at Chieveley in the Berkshire countryside.

Michael Winch Yearling Memorial Award (3)

1. Williams Bournehouse Spring Violet, 17 month B/B young lady, feminine well-proportioned head with good eye and soft expression, balanced in skull and length of muzzle with defined stop and low set ears. Good neck and shoulders with well-sprung ribs for age, level topline and well-angulated hindquarters. She was presented in good coat and condition and moved around the ring with plenty of drive.

Lesley Allan-Scott Open Memorial Award (11)

1.Trigwell & Weller's Hannahdene Danny Boy With Juldeane JW, most handsome O/B boy almost 2 ½ years old who exudes maleness, and is so well-proportioned throughout. Has a balanced head with square muzzle and well-defined stop, with soft expression and dark eye. Good reach of neck leading into well-placed shoulders, good depth to chest with good spring of ribs carried well back, level topline with correct tailset. He has strong bone, standing on good feet and with powerful well-angulated quarters which he used to cover the ground in style. Shown in good coat and condition.

2. Harris's Gemsett Ultra Violet, 3 year old B/B lady presenting a lovely outline when stood with everything in proportion. She has a really attractive head with dark eye and soft feminine expression and with low set ears. Long reach of neck through well-set shoulders, deep chest with a well sprung ribcage, she has balanced quarters with good angulation and bend of stifle. Beautifully presented and in good coat and condition, moved well.
